CFCR 90.5 FM Saskatoon Community Radio March 2024 Local Album of the Month: “Persephone” by Aurora Bella

Read: “Salty, Spicy and Sweet: Aurora Bella’s Debut Album Release Party Satisfies All Your Taste Buds”Article by Melanie Macpherson, Photos by Tracy Creighton, NSMZ.ca

“(Aurora) Bella’s recorded output thus far demonstrates intimacy and restraint beyond her years. Her jazzy vocals draw you in. Her words show emotional depth… definitely “one to watch”. Her cup literally runneth over when it comes to the creativity within that cranium of hers and it shows.” Scott Roos, North Sask Music Zine, Nov 2023.

“(Aurora) Bella’s cathartic writing and dreamy, effortless voice combine to candidly capture her sorrow and loss. Her flair for old fashioned vocal melodies and the uniquely wistful violin-ukulele arrangement posit the song firmly among the alternative singer songwriters redefining the genre.” Will Yannacoulias, North Sask Music Zine, Aug 2022.

“(Aurora) Bella’s solo style is a dreamy alt-rock kind of sound, heavy on strings and filled to the brim with creativity. Her music is plaintive and powerful, and she’s a performer to keep an eye on as her career keeps progressing… Bella is a great young talent.” Saskatoon Star Phoenix, Apr 23, 2020.
